Craig Mongeau - October 2009
The 2009 N.Y.S. Highway & Public Works Expo is once again set and ready to showcase all the latest and greatest equipment and services offered to help you get your jobs done easier and more efficiently. This year’s show will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Americraft Center of Progress building on the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
On page 60 of this issue, please check out our comprehensive list of more than 120 exhibitors, who will be working hard to get your attention should you choose to attend.
As is the case every year, a steady stream of door prizes will be awarded to lucky guests throughout the day.
Two expo attendees will either win a pair of tickets to the Nov. 1 game between the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans at Ralph Wilson Stadium or two tickets (plus pit passes) to the NASCAR race in Watkins Glen on Aug. 9, 2010.
Lunch will once again be free thanks to sponsors Burr International Trucks/MC Truck Equipment, Chemung Supply, Stadium International Trucks and Tracey Road Equipment/Tracey Truck Center. Please, if you have a moment, stop by and thanks these fine companies for sponsoring this lunch. In this economy, it’s virtually incredible that any company would or could do this. We’re certainly grateful for their generosity. After that, don’t forget about the annual Snowplow Roadeo competition. If you think your team has what it takes to be crowned champ, be sure to sign up at the front registration booth as soon as you arrive.
And here’s one final note about the show (one that I say every year): Not only is the N.Y.S. Highway & Public Works Expo an exceptional venue to learn about the latest in equipment and services, but it is also a great chance to nominate someone to be profiled in an upcoming issue of Superintendent’s Profile. To do that, stop by the front registration desk and leave a name and phone number and the folks there will pass it along to me, so that we can get started on the profile.
Take care and hope you can attend. P
