November 2003

Craig Mongeau - November 2003

We at Profile would like to thank everyone who exhibited and attended the ninth Annual NYS Highway and Public Works Expo on October 15 at the Verizon Center of Progress building at the Fairgrounds. It was great seeing all of you – some of you for the first time!

It was a bit breezy, wasn’t it? According to the October 16 edition of The Post Standard of Syracuse, wind gusts reached as high as 70 mph in some parts of Madison, Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties. But judging by the turnout, which was extraordinary, neither the rain, nor wind could (alright, I’ll say it) “dampen the enthusiasm” of the hundreds – exhibitors and visitors – who attended; and for that we are very grateful.

Also, we’d like to thank those of you who braved the elements to participate in the Snow Plow Roadeo, and congratulations to the first, second and third place finishers – the Town of Hammond, the Town of Triangle and Finger Lakes Community College.

And congratulations to all the door prize winners, including grand prize winner William Russell, superintendent of highways, Middletown, who took home the Remington 1187 Limited Edition Dale Earnhardt shot gun donated by Profile Publications. Check out pages 62, 69, and 77 for show coverage and Snow Plow Roadeo winners. (And to find out if the Profile photographer was able to get your picture in the magazine. Please don’t be disappointed, though, if you don’t find your photo in this month’s issue; we’ll also be running photos in our next issue, including the full list of door prize winners.)

Again, thank you for exhibiting and attending. Now, be sure to mark your 2004 calendar for the tenth annual NYS Highway & Public Works Expo, which will be held on October 13.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving !
